Julia Stoschek (born 1975) is a German art collector, specializing in time-based media art.
Julia Stoschek was born in 1975,[1] the daughter of Michael Stoschek, a German billionaire businessman, chairman of Brose Fahrzeugteile, the German car parts company founded by her great grandfather Max Brose.[2]
Stoschek first began buying art in 2003.[3] Her collection features works by mainly European and US artists working from the 1960s onwards and includes video, multi-media environments, internet-based installations and performance.[4] The Julia Stoschek Collection in a former industrial building in Düsseldorf-Oberkassel opened in 2007, and has two floors of exhibition space, over 2,500 square metres (27,000 square feet).[5] Since the opening, she has mounted regular collection-based shows, including solo exhibitions on Cyprien Gaillard and Bruce Nauman.
Stoschek also joined the member of the board of the Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art. In 2016, she announced plans to open a satellite exhibition space in a former Czech cultural center in Berlin.[6]
