Jonathan Edward Hugh Sorrell (born August 1977) is the president and a director of the alternative investment management business, Man Group, the world's largest publicly traded hedge fund company.

Early life

Sorrell was born in August 1977,[1] the son of advertising mogul Sir Martin Sorrell. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in law.[2]

Career

Sorrell worked as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, as did his brothers Mark and Robert, before joining Man Group in 2011 as head of strategy and corporate finance. From 2012 to 2016 he was chief financial officer and in 2016 was promoted to co-president and then president.[3][4][5][6][7]

Appointments

Sorrell is chairman of the board of governors of The Granville School in Sevenoaks, Kent, an independent preparatory school,[8] and a director of The Ena Makin Educational Trust which runs the school.[9]
