Jonathan Bailey (born 25 April 1988)[1] is an English actor, best known for the ITV drama Broadchurch, the BBC's Leonardo as a young Leonardo da Vinci and the Channel 4 comedy Campus.

Career

Bailey first began working as an actor on the ITV series Bramwell. After playing parts in various television series and films, Bailey secured a small role as sport enthusiast Flatpack in the sitcom Campus. In 2011, he was cast as Leonardo da Vinci in the program Leonardo and went on to play opposite Sarah Alexander in the BBC comedy Me and Mrs. Jones.[2]

He was nominated for the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2012 for his performance in David Hare's South Downs.[3]

Bailey has played the role of Tim Price[4] in the musical American Psycho at London's Almeida Theatre since December 2013.[5]

In September 2014, he played the character Psi in the Doctor Who series 8 episode, "Time Heist". [6]

He portrays small town reporter Olly Stevens in the ITV series Broadchurch.[7]

Personal life

Bailey was born in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, and has three older sisters. He decided that he wanted to be an actor at age 5 after seeing a stage production of Oliver![1]
