Johan Ludvik Løvald

Johan Ludvik Løvald (born 14 May 1943) is a Norwegian diplomat.

He is a Ph.D. by education, and started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1973. He served as deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1993 to 1996, and counsellor to the embassy in Canada from 1996 to 1999. From 2000 to 2003 he was the assistant to the permanent under-secretary of state. From 2003 to 2008 he was the Norwegian ambassador to the United Nations in New York City.[1]
