Jody Cortez (born 1960) is a drummer who began his professional career at the age of 21 when he began to tour with Boz Scaggs in 1981. He once played drums for Cinderella. He replaced drummer Jim Drnec and was replaced by drummer Fred Coury shortly after the recording of Cinderella's Night Songs.

He played on Night Songs and some early copies of Night Songs do feature a picture of Cortez on the back cover, but Fred Coury was in the album photo and listed as a band member in the liner notes because he was by then a member of the band.

Jody Cortez has worked with David Crosby[1] and played on the live version of the hit single "Hero" by Crosby and Phil Collins. In 1994, Cortez toured with CSN for the 25th Anniversary Tour, including Woodstock 2. In December 2009, he was announced as the new drummer for Yoso, although he left the band early in 2010.
