João Vieira (island)

João Viera is an important sea turtle nesting island in the Bijagós Archipelago of Guinea-Bissau. It is also a centre for sea fishing and is the centre of the João Vieira and Poilão Marine National Park.[1] Nearby islets includes Meio (not to confuse with Maio which is in the north), Cavalos to the west and Roxa/Canhabaque to the northwest. The mainland of Guinea-Bissau and Africa are to the northeast.
