James A. "Jim" Coleman (October 30, 1911 – January 14, 2001), was a Canadian sports journalist. A nationally syndicated columnist for the Southam Newspapers (later known as CanWest News Service), he won the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award in 1984 and is a member of the media section of the Hockey Hall of Fame.[1] He also wrote for the Winnipeg Tribune, Edmonton Bulletin, and Globe and Mail. His column was syndicated in 1950. Coleman was a member of the Order of Canada, Canadian News Hall of Fame, Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Canada Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Football Hall of Fame.[2][3] He also hosted the The Jim Coleman Show from 1959 to 1960.
