Jesuit Classical Gymnasium with right of public (Croatian: Isusovačka klasična gimnazija s pravom javnosti, IKG) is a high school in Osijek, Croatia.

History

The school was established by Croatian Jesuits on 10 February 1998. Decision of the establishment issued Provincialate of Croatian province of Society of Jesus in Zagreb.

On 25 June 1998, from Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the school got a permission for start work according to plan and program of classical gymnasium in 4-year period.

On 9 July 1998 Ministry gave consent for enrolment of students for school year of 1998-99.

In September 1998 school started with work, in a space of II Gymnasium.

In year of 2000-01 school moved into today building.

Program

The school implements program of Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia for classical gymnasium. That includes learning of Latin and Greek language and culture in 4-year period.

Building

The building of gymnasium was built in 1720.[2]

In January 2000 was signed an agreement, by which City of Osijek cedes the building to school, for using it. Later were added annexes for using and renovation of 2nd floor, and then for cabinets in a ground floor.

In 2002 was allowed renovation of 2nd floor.

In 2005 the school got building permit for setup and using of attic and construction of lift.
