Jayden Short (born 24 January 1996) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

AFL career

Short was drafted by Richmond with the 11th overall selection in the 2015 rookie draft . He spent 2015 on Richmond's rookie list and did not play a game in the club's AFL side.[1]

In March 2016 he was upgraded to the club's senior list, replacing the injured Reece Conca.[2] He made his debut in Round 2 of that season and kicked a goal with his first kick. Short finished the game with an equal team-high three goals.[3][4] He played another 15 games in his debut season, playing predominantly in the backline and becoming a key kick-out taker for the side.[5]

Short was upgraded to Richmond's senior list in October 2016, and signed a new two year contract keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2018 season.[5]
