Jasser Haj Youssef

Jasser Haj Youssef (جاسر حاج يوسف) is a Tunisian violinist, viola d'amore player and composer who works in wide variety of musical situations: Oriental music, contemporary music and jazz. This Tunisian violinist belongs to the young guard of the soloists of Arab music.

Early life

He has performed and recorded with artists such as Barbara Hendricks, Youssou N’Dour, Sister Marie Keyrouz, Didier Lockwood, Cheikha Rimitti, Toufic Farroukh, Miguel Angel Estrella, Salah El Mahdi, Choubeila Rached, Safia Chamia, Geoffroy De Masure, Linley Marthe… Jasser collaborate with Simona Morini in La Sposa Persiana (Carlo Goldoni)

Its research at the Paris 8 University and the Tunis University works on a fusion between Arabic music and jazz.

Jasser Haj Youssef is titular of a First Price of Arab Music Interpretation, a Diploma in Classic Violin, a Diploma in Musicology and a DEA in “Performing Arts and Spectacle”.
