Janicza Bravo

Janicza Bravo is an American costume designer, writer, and filmmaker.

Biography

Although she was born in New York City, Bravo lived in Panama at an army base until she was a teenager.[1][2] She studied at New York University, where she focused on direction and set design.[3] In 2014, she was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film."[4] Bravo co-wrote her first feature, Lemon, with Brett Gelman,[5] and after a somewhat turbulent pre-production process, it was picked up by Killer Films and Burn Later Productions.[6][7] Bravo directed episode 9 ("Juneteenth") of the FX television show Atlanta.[8]
