Jørn Tomter

Jørn Tomter (born 1975) is a Norwegian-born photographer living and working in Clapton, London. His documentary-based work has been exhibited throughout London, among others at Victoria & Albert Museum, Notting Hill Arts Club, and Pentagram Gallery, and widely published in international magazines.[1] He has also contributed to STÆRK, a DVD which was part of Creative Review, May issue 2005. The DVD was a production of the Norwegian Embassy in London to promote Norwegian artists in the U.K.

Jørn Tomter first book The Norwegian Way was published by Generation Yacht November 2007. TNW is a five years documentary of the unique end of school celebration in Norway called Russ.[1]

Tomter founded the Scandinavian art collective Beachclub which was promoting Scandinavian photography, art and music in London and co-founded Super Magazine.

Tomter is now working on an extensive photography project to document his neighbourhood in Lower Clapton around Chatsworth Road. The project named I Love Chatsworth Road has so far published two magazines as well as numerous exhibitions.
