International Community School (ICS) was founded in 1993 by a group of parents from different nationalities and walks of life. Their common goal was to establish a Christian school in Singapore to serve the needs of both corporate and missionary expatriates.

ICS is a member of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS), an interdenominational mission organization with its headquarters in the USA. It is fully accredited by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). It is also registered with the Ministry of Education (Singapore) (MOE).

History

The school was first named Christian International School, Ltd. (CIS) when Mr. Graham Holderness from St. George’s Anglican Church began the institution.

By 1996, just three years after its opening dates, the school was approved as a candidate for accreditation under the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 1999, both of these were approved.
