Inge Krokann

Inge Krokann in 1929

Inge Krokann (August 19, 1893 in Oppdal September 27, 1962 in Gausdal) was a Norwegian writer. Because his writing is so strongly tied in the use of dialect and idiosyncratic nynorsk, his works are largely inaccessible and arguably untranslatable.

His work was characterized by:

He worked as a teacher most of his life, though he was disabled by disease at an early age.

His most famous work is I Dovre Sno (In the Snow of Dovre), an epic story of the Loe family in the Middle Ages.

He was born in Oppdal, and died in Gausdal.
