Indian Mound Mall is a shopping center located in Heath, Ohio. It opened in 1986. Its current anchors are Elder-Beerman, J. C. Penney, and Sears.

History

Indian Mound Mall opened in 1986 as the first indoor shopping mall in Licking County. Its original anchor stores were Elder-Beerman, J. C. Penney, and Lazarus, as well as a Hills acting as a secondary anchor. Crown Cinema, located in the rear of the mall, was added in 1988.[2] A fountain that had originally been in the center of the mall was removed in 1997. Also in 1997 the mall added Sears, replacing a freestanding store nearby, and the Crown Theaters was expanded from six screens to eleven, becoming a Hollywood Theater shortly thereafter. In 2016, Hollywood Theater was bought out by AMC Theatres.[3] In 1998 Elder-Beerman was expanded, adding 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2).[4]

In 1999 Hills was replaced by Ames, which in turn closed in 2002. Steve & Barry's moved into the empty store in 2004. Lazarus closed in 2004, becoming Goody's the following year. Goody's closed at the end of May 2008 and became Dick's Sporting Goods in 2011.[5] Steve & Barry's has remained vacant.
