Imply is a company founded by the creators of Druid, that aims to help organizations with exploratory analytics at scale using Druid.[1]

People

Imply's co-founders previously worked together for several years on Druid and the ecosystem around Druid as early stage employees of Metamarkets, a San Francisco-based data startup.[2] Imply's co-founders are:

History

In 2011, the Druid project was started at Metamarkets to power the analytics product at the company. The project was open sourced in October 2012 under the GPL license.[3][4] Over time, notable organizations including Netflix[5] and Yahoo[6] adopted the project into their technology stacks. The increased adoption led Metamarkets to change the license of the project to Apache.[7] With the growing popularity of the open source project, the creators of the project at Metamarkets decided to form Imply. In October 2015, Imply announced that it had raised $2 million from Khosla Ventures.[8]

Relation with Druid

Imply, founded by the team that created Druid, an open-source data store, is closely involved with the development of the project. Imply continues to make contributions to Druid and drive its roadmap.[9]
