Ikano

Ikano Group is a privately held international group of companies with the parent company Ikano S.A. based in Luxembourg. It was originally part of IKEA, but became independent in 1988 and is since owned by the Kamprad family.[1]

Ikano has operations in 14 countries in Europe and Southeast Asia, divided into four business areas and a group services office:[2]

Subsidiaries include Ikano Bank AB,[3] Ikano Bostad AB (Residential) and Ikano Försäkring AB[4] (Insurance) in Sweden, as well as Ikano LLC in Russia, jointly owned with Credit Europe Bank.[5] Its financial services include mortgage loans, consumer loans, and loyalty cards for retailers and the residential operations consist of rental and tenant owned apartments in various locations in Sweden.[6]

Ikano owns the IKEA franchise rights for Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and operates IKEA stores in these markets.[7]

In 2015, Lars Thorsén succeeded Arja Taaveniku as CEO of Ikano Group.[8]
