Hungary returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, after previously entering in 2009 with Zoli Ádok singing "Dance with me", placing fifteenth in the second semi-final.[1][2] This was the country's ninth participation in the contest since 1994.[3]

On 7 March 2011, MTV announced that they would select their entry for Düsseldorf internally.[4] On 9 March 2011, MTV officially presented Kati Wolf as the Hungarian representative in Germany with the song "What about my dreams?".[5]

At Eurovision

Hungary started their Eurovision campaign with Kati Wolf being selected from the national final. Hungary drew starting position 15 for the first semi-final on May 10, 2011. The song "What About My Dreams?" drew a positive reaction from the crowd during her performance in the first semi. After voting Hungary earned a spot in the final with 7th place and 72 points. After the semi-final, Hungary drew position 5 for the grand final and earned 22nd place with 53 points.
