Humphrey Sibthorp (1744–1815)

Humphrey Sibthorp (3 October 1744 – 25 April 1815)[1][2] was a British Tory[3] politician. He was the oldest son of the botanist Humphry Sibthorp.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Boston at a by-election in April 1777, after the death of Charles Amcotts MP.[4] He was re-elected in 1780, and held the sat until his defeat[4] at the 1784 general election.[1]
He was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Lincoln at a by-election in April 1800, after the death of George Rawdon MP.[3] He was re-elected in 1802, and held the seat until the 1806 general election,[2] when he did not stand again in Lincoln.[3]
