Hugh K. Leatherman Sr. (born April 14, 1931) is a Republican Party (United States) member of the South Carolina Senate, representing the 31st District since 1981. The 31st District is anchored in Florence, South Carolina. As Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Leatherman also sits on the state's Budget and Control Board. He was elected President Pro Tempore of the South Carolina Senate on June 18, 2014.

Leatherman played a key role in getting The Boeing Company to announce plans to build a 787 Dreamliner assembly plant in North Charleston in October 2009, and in The Boeing Company's expansion of 2,000 new jobs in 2013.

Senator Leatherman is a graduate of North Carolina State University. Prior to his election to the Senate in 1980, he served on the town council as mayor pro tempore in Quinby, South Carolina, from 1971 to 1976.
