Howard Clifton is an American bobsledder who competed in the late 1960s. He won a bronze medal in the two-man event at the 1967 FIBT World Championships in Alpe d'Huez.

Howard Clifton lived in Clifton Park, New York when he was in the Olympics with his wife, Sheila and their daughter, Tera Clifton, age 4. He travelled every weekend up to Lake Placid to train on the bobsled run there. He used an 8 year old sled which he worked on and maintained himself in the garage of his home. He was a very dedicated and serious athlete who always had a goal he was going after in life. He is survived by his ex-wife, Sheila, his 2nd wife Jeanne, his daughters Tera Clifton Feigen, Michelle Clifton Brown and Holly Clifton, and his son, Steven Clifton.
