Hot Shot (Barry Blue song)

"Hot Shot" is a song written by Barry Blue and Lynsey de Paul,[1] that was recorded by Blue as his fifth single on Bell Records and released in 1974.[2] The foot stopping song features cossack style chanting and rousing horns, but also manages to keep within the glam rock style that Blue was known for.[3] The single entered the UK Singles Chart on 26 October 1974 and peaked at number 23 on 9 November 1974.[4] The song also featured on a number of Bell Records compilation albums.[5][6] Although this was the last hit single for Blue, he went to have a long career as a songwriter and producer. His writing partnership with de Paul resulted in two additional singles that were released by Blue on the Private Stock label; "Billy" in 1976,[7] and "Lover Lovin' You" in 1977.[8]
