Hot FM is a Malay language radio station owned by Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Media Prima. Broadcasts transmitted from Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama. Hot FM began test transmission on 15 January 2006 and officially commenced operations on 6 February 2006. Hot FM previously WaFM was owned by Puan Sri Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina was later acquired by Media Prima. Hot FM broadcasts 24 hours a day. Led by a former presenter with Era FM, Sathiaseelan a/l Paul Thurai (Seelan Paul) Director of Network, Hot FM broadcast mixed of songs in Malay, Indonesian and English songs, but the main language is in Malay. In 2009, Hot FM went down in history as for the first time it was charted at the top among other radio stations in Malaysia with 3.8 million weekly listeners,[1] ahead of its traditional rival Era FM which only reached 3.76 million listeners in a week.

Hot FM Kelate and Hot FM T'Ganu

Hot FM Kelate is a specific channel for listeners in Kelantan while Hot FM T'Ganu is another specific channel for listeners in Terengganu. They play mainly Malay and English songs while occasionally, some Indonesian songs are played as well. The difference between Hot FM, Hot FM Kelate and Hot FM T'Ganu is the way the announcers present the shows. In Hot FM Kelate, the announcer uses the Kelantan dialect while Hot FM T'ganu uses the Terengganu dialect. The segments also differ in terms of the content that is being shared.
