HogSozzle Music Festival

HogSozzle Music Festival is an annual music festival held near Stevenage, England over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend in May.[1] HogSozzle focuses on unsigned bands, artists and comedians, as well as featuring a hog roast and pigment paint fight.

The festival

The festival takes in 3 days and 3 nights of live bands, DJs, comedians and much more. The acts encompass a range of genres, including indie, reggae, ska, house, breaks and electro swing. There is a hogroast on Saturday. A large powder paint fight, akin to a mini Holi festival takes place on Sunday.[2] Festival-goers are encouraged to wear fancy dress.

The site

The festival site consists of a main outdoor stage, dance tent, chill out yurt, hog roast area, bar, campsite and food vendor area. It is the same site used for the Wilkestock Charity Music Festival.[3]

History

The festival began in 2010 as a back garden birthday party amongst friends with just fifty people, one hogroast and five DJs.[4] The following year it grew to 180 people and 40 acts in Sherwood Forest. In 2012 it found a new site near Stevenage, and continues to grow.
