High Down (Isle of Wight)
High Down is an area of Chalk Downland, making up the western extent of the ridge that crosses the Isle of Wight, England, and overlooking The Needles rock stacks. It includes Tennyson Down.
A facility was set up on the High Down Rocket Test Site for the testing of Black Knight and Black Arrow rockets prior to shipment to the launch site at Woomera, South Australia.
