Hemendra Aran (born September 1974) is an Indian origin entrepreneur,[1] author[2] and movie producer.[3] Hemendra is the founder and CEO of Aranca Research.[4] a Mumbai based research, analytics and advisory firm with offices in London (United Kingdom), Boston (United States), New York City (United States), Palo Alto (United States), Shanghai (China) and Gurgaon (India).[5]

Education

Hemendra pursued his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras,.[6] Thereafter, he completed his Masters in Business Administration from London Business School with specialization in Entrepreneurship and Finance.[6] He is also an alumnus of Haas School of Business,[7] University of California, Berkeley.

Professional

Hemendra founded Aranca in 2003[8] and currently operates in the capacity of Chief Executive Officer.[9][10] He started his career with Infosys Technologies Limited, where he worked on outsourcing, project management and process re-engineering consultancy assignments to Goldman Sachs, Reebok, and Thomson Consumer Electronics.[11] He is a regular commentator on media channels such as BBC News,[12] Channel News Asia,[13] and The Economic Times[14] .[15] Hemendra has also delivered talks at top-tier institutes such as London School of Economics, the Indian Institutes of Management, the Indian Institutes of Technology, and Confederation of Indian Industry.[16]

Hemendra is the author of 2 books on the topics of outsourcing and global financial markets.[2]

Film Making

In addition to Aranca, which is a research and analytics firm, Hemendra also heads the movie production company Meher Miracles[17][18] and has produced the Hindi feature film Yeh Khula Aasmaan in 2012[19] under the banner Gitanjali Creations.[6] Yeh Khula Aasmaan was the winner of the Best Foreign Feature Film at the All Sports Los Angeles Film Festival and Kids First! Film and Video Festival in USA.[20] He was also featured on the leading Indian entertainment television channel ETC Bollywood on the Komal Natha show[21]

Personal

Hemendra is married to Gitanjali Sinha and has two children.[6]
