Harkisan Mehta Institute of Media, Research and Analysis is a private institute in the among the SVKM (Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal) group of institutes.[1] Established in the year 1990, the institute offers professional media courses for both graduate and undergraduate students.

History

Harkisan Mehta Institute of Media, Research and Analysis is named after Harkisan Mehta. He was a Gujarathi novelist, journalist and the founder editor of Chitra Lekha Magazine. The institute was previously named Harkisan Mehta Foundation Institute of Journalism and Mass communication.

Campus

The HMMRA is located at Vile Parle a suburb in western Mumbai. The campus is shared with the Mithibai College.[2]

Organisation

At the institutional level, HMMRA is governed by committee of office bearers with nominated by the parent group of SVKM which is having control and responsibility for the maintenance of standards of instruction, education and examinations. For all academic matters, there is the team led by a Director. Current director is Prof. Soumyadipta Banerjee. Faculties & Mentors include Ram Kamal Mukherjee, one of the leading entertainment journalist.
