Haripad Ramakrishna Pillai (17 April 1926 – 15 February 1989) born in Haripad, Kerala was one a Kathakali actor, from Kerala in south India.[1] He owes the purity of his style in Kathi, Thaadi and Minukku roles in Kathhakali to his Guru Chenganoor Raman Pillai.

Biography

Ramakrishna pillai was born in Haripad village in the year 1926. He has spent his childhood with his father Sankarapillai and mother Devakiamma in their family house near Thalathotta Siva temple. He was first instructed under Thakazhi Ramanpillai, Chennithala Kochupillai Panicker and Kurichi Kunjan Panicker. Impressed by his talents, Guru Chengannur took him as his student and taught (Cholli Aattam)all major roles in Kathakali[2] He has started a Kathakali Troop & institute in Haripad to train students across South Kerala. His name was mentioned in the famous Malayalam film song 'Uthara Swayamvarm' by Sreekumarn Thampi.[3]
