The USCGC Chelan (1928) was a Lake-class cutter belonging to the United States Coast Guard launched on 19 May 1928 and commissioned on 5 September 1928 .[1] After 13 years of service to the Coast Guard, she was transferred to the British Royal Navy as part of the Lend-Lease Act.
Career
US Coast Guard - Chelan
After commissioning in November 1928, the Chelan was homeported in Seattle, Washington and assigned to the Bering Sea Patrol.[2]
Royal Navy - Lulworth
As part of the Lend-Lease Act she was transferred to the Royal Navy where she was renamed the HMS Lulworth (Y 60) and commissioned on 2 May 1941.[3]
US Coast Guard - Chelan (post war)
After the war, she was returned to the USCG and ultimately sold on 23 October 1947.
