Gilotina

Gilotina is a fictional character, an extraterrestrial martial artist in publications from DC Comics. Created by Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Mister Miracle vol. 1 #8 (May 1972).

Fictional character biography

A member of the original group of Female Furies, Gilotina was later bumped to junior member status and worked with the other younger members of the group: Malice Vundabar, Speed Queen, and Bloody Mary.^[1] Gilotina had the ability to chop through anything with her hands, hence the name, but is also armed with swords. She was eventually abandoned by the Furies after a failed mission, and joined Project Cadmus. A short time later she rejoined the Furies.

Rejoining the Furies, Gilotina was able to rise in their ranks. As field leader of a team of Furies, she was put in charge of testing a new potential recruit named Precious. She and the Furies battled Precious, but Precious proved unworthy and was quickly slain. After the abduction of Supergirl, Gilotina led a team of Furies into battle against their former leader Big Barda and her ally Wonder Woman. What became of her team of Furies after their defeat is unknown.

Powers and abilities

Gilotina is capable of slicing through almost any material with her hands, and in addition she carries a pair of swords. She is also a trained martial artist specializing in unarmed combat.

• Gilotina appears in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse voiced by Salli Saffioti in it she tries to kill Big Barda but is stopped by Wonder Woman.
