Garrett G. Fagan
Garrett G. Fagan (born 1963) is an Irish American historian and writer known for his research in the field of Roman history and criticism of pseudoarchaeology.
Garrett was born in Dublin, Ireland and studied ancient history at Trinity College. He obtained a PhD from McMaster University, Canada. He is currently Professor of Ancient History at Penn State University.[1][2]
Garrett's first book Bathing in Public in the Roman World (1999) was published by the University of Michigan Press.[3][4] Garrett has contributed to and edited Archaeological Fantasies (2006), a book critical of pseudoarchaeological claims.[5]
His book The Lure of the Arena (2011) was described by Kyle Gervais as an "innovative and insightful volume... It will not only stimulate productive research into Roman society, but also encourage valuable scholarly reflection."[6]
