Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) is an engineering college located at Gunupur, in the state of Odisha, India. It was established in the year 1997. This institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, India and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology Government of Odisha since 1997. It has also got approval from AICTE for admission of foreign nationals and PIO's. GIET has now been under consideration for the status of the University with Potential for Excellence by the UGC. It has applied for deemed university status since the last 10 years. GIET is an ISO 9000:2000 Certified institute for maintaining its quality in the field of technical education.[1]

NBA (National Board of Accreditation) AICTE, Govt. of India has accredited Five B.Tech branches, for high quality technical education, which has accredited only 5% of the engineering colleges of the country on the basis of their education and infrastructure. It also accredited by NAAC "A" certificate. This institute has also own "Gandhi award" for best Engineering college of Odisha State from ISTE - 2011 and ISTE Best student chapter award for Odisha Education from ISTE - 2011. GIET is also recognized by DSIR (Govt. of India) as an institution for Quality Research.

Managing Trust

The history of growth and development of the institution is an account of the ardent zeal and dedicated endeavour of the educationalist of Gunupur, Prof. (Dr.) Satya Prakash Panda, for the spread of technical education in Odisha. He founded a trust called Vidya Bharathi Education Trust which is a non-governmental organization, established in the year 1996. The Trust works in the area of Education & Literacy, towards the promotion of modern and technical education in the state of Odisha . The Vidya Bharti Education Trust is a conglomerate of educational institutions, driven by a single-minded focus on imparting quality and modern education to make students radiant.
