Frank N. Henderson (December 6, 1922 – April 27, 2015) was a Republican Idaho State Representative since 2004 representing District 5 in the B seat.[1][2] Henderson was previously the mayor of Post Falls, Idaho from 1980 to 1983 and Kootenai County commissioner from 1983 to 1991.
Early life and career
Henderson graduated high school in Wisconsin and attended the University of Idaho. Henderson was a soldier in the United States Army's 33rd Infantry Division during World War II.
Elections
- 2012 Redistricted to 3B, Henderson won the May 15, 2012, Republican primary with 1,926 votes (55.6%) against Jack Schroeder, facing Democratic nominee Ronald K. Johnson[3] for the general election on November 6, 2012.
- 1990 Henderson lost the District 2 senate B seat race to Dennis Davis in the general election on November 6, 1990. Davis won the District 3 senate seat in the 1992 election and served in the senate from 1990 until 1994.
- 1992 Henderson lost the District 2 senate seat race to Democratic Representative Barbara Chamberlain in the general election on November 3, 1992. Chamberlain held the seat from 1992 until 1996.
- 2004 Henderson challenged incumbent Republican Representative Charles Eberle in the May 25, 2004, primary, winning by 99 with 1,625 votes (51.57%);[4] he won the November 2, 2004, general election with 11,381 votes (69.5%) against Democratic nominee Lyndon Harriman.[5]
- 2006 Unopposed for the May 23, 2006, Republican primary, Henderson won with 2,862 votes; Harriman was unopposed in the Democratic primary, setting up a rematch.[6] Henderson won the November 7, 2006, general election with 7,710 votes (65.54%) against Harriman.[7]
- 2008 Unopposed for the May 27, 2008, Republican primary, Henderson won with 2,389 votes[8] and was unopposed for the November 4, 2008, general election, winning with 16,057 votes.[9]
- 2010 Unopposed for the May 25, 2010, Republican primary, Henderson won with 3,416 votes[10] and was unopposed for the November 2, 2010, general election, winning with 11,707 votes.[11]
Death
Henderson died on April 27, 2015 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.[12]
