Frank Alexander Montgomery (January 7, 1830 – December 16, 1903) was an American politician. He is best known for his memoir of life as a Confederate cavalry officer, called Reminiscences of a Mississippian in Peace and War (1901).[1]
Biography
Frank Montgomery was born on January 7, 1830, in Adams County, Mississippi. He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the First Mississippi Cavalry Regiment during The Civil War. He served in the Mississippi Legislature from 1880 to 1896 and one term as a judge on the Fourth Circuit District Court of Mississippi. He died on December 16, 1903, and is buried at Beulah Cemetery in Bolivar County, Mississippi.[2]
