France was represented by Nina Morato, with the song '"Je suis un vrai garçon", at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 30 May in Dublin. "Je suis un vrai garçon" was chosen internally by broadcaster France 2.

At Eurovision

On the night of the final Morato performed last in the running order, following Poland. "Je suis un vrai garçon" was in Eurovision terms something of an experimental song with unusual rhythms and vocal cadences, and was given one of the more distinctive stage presentations of the evening. At the close of voting "Je suis un vrai garçon" had picked up 74 points (the highest a 10 from Russia), placing France 7th of the 25 entries. The French jury awarded its 12 points to Poland.[1]
