Fidel Olivas Escudero District is one of eight districts of the province Mariscal Luzuriaga in Peru.[1]

History

The district is named after Bishop Fidel Olivas Escudero.[2]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (97.11%) learnt to speak in childhood, 2.61% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
