FAI rent-a-jet AG (Flight Ambulance International) is an airline based in Germany. It operates executive jet charter and air ambulance services, as well as aircraft leasing and management services. FAI operates jet aircraft from its Nuremberg base for air ambulance and executive jet services.[1]

History

The airline was established in 1987 under the name of IFA-Flugbetriebs GmbH as a wholly owned subsidiary of non-profit private club, IFA Internationale Flug Ambulanz e.V. In 1989, it was privatized and redeployed under the Flight Ambulance Service name. In 1992 FAI took over Grundig AG`s flight department, as part of an outsourcing strategy and was structured in its present corporate form. In 2003 the company name was changed from FAI Airservice to FAI rent-a-jet. In 2014, FAI generated revenues of over 73 million euros.[1] As of July 2015, 100% of the company is owned by Axtmann Holding AG.

Some of the Learjets are stationed in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and in Dakar, Senegal, dedicated to the Westafrican peace mission.
