Essex, Humboldt County, California

Essex (formerly, Glen Essex[1]) is an locality[1] in Humboldt County, California. It is located on the Mad River 3.5 miles (5.6 km) northeast of Arcata,[1] at an elevation of 75 feet (23 m).[2]

History

A post office was established on May 29, 1902, merging with Blue Lake a year later.[3]
