Erling Gjone

Erling Gjone (8 May 1898 – 10 October 1990) was a Norwegian architect. He was born in Levanger. He was appointed professor at the Norwegian Institute of Technology from 1949. During the German conquest of Norway in 1940 he took part in the Battle of Hegra Fortress, and later emerged as leader of the local chapter of Milorg in Trøndelag at the end of the war. He was decorated Knight of the Order of St. Olav in 1961, and Commander in 1973. He had also received the British King's Medal for Courage.[1][2]
