Encounter is an album by Michael Stearns, released in 1988.

Subtitled A Journey in the Key of Space, it's a collection of peaceful instrumental pieces, weaving synthesizers and various background sounds. It evocates landscapes and feelings of a summer night, the space and also the encounter with a UFO.
