Elton and Orston railway station (formerly Elton railway station) serves the villages of Elton and Orston in Nottinghamshire, England. The station is owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Trains (EMT) Train Operating Company (TOC), which also provides the rail services. The station is unstaffed and offers limited facilities other than two shelters, bicycle storage, timetables and modern 'Help Points'. The full range of tickets for travel are purchased from the guard on the train at no extra cost. There are no retail facilities at this station.
History
The station is located on the line first opened by the Ambergate, Nottingham, Boston and Eastern Junction Railway in 1850 and taken over by the Great Northern Railway.[1]
The station itself was opened by the Great Northern Railway in 1855. The station buildings were designed by Thomas Chambers Hine. Images such as NTGM016291 on Picture the Past show what the station looked like in 1967.
No station buildings by Hine survive in 2008, but there is a small 1980s brick-built shelter on one platform.
In 1904, the name of the station was just "Elton".
With only 88 passengers in 2014/2015, it is the eighth quietest station on the National Rail network.[2]

There is one service to Nottingham per day at 0625 hrs and one service to Skegness per day at 1710 hrs.
There is no Sunday service.
