Edward M. Hackett

Edward M. Hackett was an architect, builder and lumber company owner in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He built his own house (the National Register of Historic Places listed Edward M. Hackett House) at 612 East Main Street (1877-1878) in the High Victorian Gothic architectural style; including a steeply pitched roofline, arched heads over the windows, bargeboards, tower and finials. He also designed the Second Empire style hotel now known as Touchdown Tavern at 125 Main Street. It was constructed in 1886 for $10,000. William Dieks, builder of the 226 North Pine house, was a partner of Hackett's and worked as a carpenter. [1]
