Doug Geed

Doug Geed (born December 1958 on Long Island, New York) is an American journalist. He was graduated from Syosset High School and received a Bachelor of Journalism Degree at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri in 1980.

Geed worked at WALK Radio in Patchogue, Long Island as a reporter and anchor from 1981 until 1986 when he became one of the original members of News 12 Long Island—the country's first regional, 24-hour cable news television station.

He created News 12's East End Bureau in 1991, serving as bureau chief until 1997 when he became morning anchor.

In 1997 he created News 12's Emmy Award winning East End Show—serving as producer, host and reporter.

Geed has received 10 New York Emmy Awards as well as dozens of other regional, state and local awards, including Journalist of the Year from the Long Island chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.[1]

Geed has been married since 1985 and he and his wife have three children.
