The Director of Intelligence Bureau (Devanāgarī: खुफिया ब्यूरो के निदेशक, Khufīya Bureau Ke Nīrdeshāk) simply known as DIB is the senior-most post in Intelligence Bureau.[1] Having a four-star rank and being an IPS officer, DIB is the senior-most ranking IPS officer. The current director of Intelligence Bureau is Mr Dineshwar Sharma, a 1979 batch IPS officer.

Director IB (DIB) is a member of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), but intelligence inputs (at least in theory) go through the regular channels in the Ministry of Home Affairs to the JIC.
