UP-100 Service

UP-100 Service is the largest centralized police control call center for the entire Uttar Pradesh state in India created for maintaining the law and order.[1] It is a toll free number which provides police and fire emergency services.[2]Its old name was Dial-100 service.[3]

Overview

The Centre began construction in Gomtinagar Lucknow on 19 December 2015. Dial 100 has already been operational in the police stations of Lucknow, Kanpur city, Allahabad and Ghaziabad t.[4]

Scheduled to be fully functional by December 2016, the state government has cleared Rs. 33.55 crore for procurement of eight acres of land from Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) for the co-ordination centre the state capital. The government of Uttar Pradesh had appointed its Public Works Department as the nodal agency for the construction of the building which will house the co-ordination centre and has already sanctioned Rs. 67.48 crore for the purpose. Recently, Ernst & Young has been appointed as the consultant for the project which will be a part of the Police Emergency Response Management System (PERMS)[1]

The proposed master co-ordination centre of UP- 100 service is at Gomtinagar Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The total cost of the project is Rs 2325.33 crore.[2] Different cloud frameworks are put together in an integrated manner to provide the service in seven districts Unnao, Sitapur, Raebareli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Saharanpur and Pilibhit with a very comprehensive and effective Emergency Response Systems.[5]

Rs 33.55 crore for procurement of land.[1] Total budget for this plan is Rs. 2325.33 crore.[2]

Initial plans are to have 300 communication officers. 2000 communication officers would be appointed in future.[1]
