Dejan Vukićević (Cyrillic: Дејан Вукићевић, born 27 April 1968) is a Montenegrin football manager and former player who played as a midfielder for Budućnost Podgorica, Mogren, Pezoporikos Larnaca, Partizan Belgrade, Sevilla and Recreativo Huelva. He is currently the only manager that won Montenegrin First League with two clubs: FK Zeta and FK Mogren. In Serbia, he has been the head coach of FK Vojvodina and FK Borac Čačak. Most recently, he was the manager of Moldavia club Dacia Chișinău.

Playing career

Born in Titograd, now known as Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, Dejan Vukićević started his senior career in 1987 playing as midfielder at FK Budućnost Titograd competing back then in the Yugoslav First League. He was part of Budućnost team that lost the Balkans Cup final in 1991. Later, after a short spell with FK Mogren, he moved to Cyprus in 1993 and played with A Division side Pezoporikos Larnaca. A year after that he signed with FK Partizan[1] with whom he would win two national championships. In 1997 he moved to Spain signing with La Liga side Sevilla FC, and finished his career in 2000 playing with Recreativo de Huelva.[2]

Coaching career

In 2004 he began his coaching career by taking charge of FK Zeta playing back then in the First League of FR Yugoslavia. After Montenegro declared independence in 2006, with FK Zeta he became first manager which won national title in the Montenegrin First League. Later, in 2007, he took charge of FK Mogren, a club he represented as player and that was competing in the Montenegrin First League. He immediately made an impact at Mogren by winning the Cup in 2008, and in the following season, 2008–09, their first ever national title. Later, during the 2010–11 season, he took charge again of FK Zeta leaving them in 4th place at the end of the season, with access to UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. This active managerial experience led him to earn a call from Serbian SuperLiga side FK Vojvodina, as replacement for Zoran Milinković. He was officially announced as Vojvodina's main coach on 15 August 2011. Vukicevic resigned as a coach of Vojvodina on 13 April 2012 after Vojvodina lost to Borac Čačak in semi-finals of Serbian Cup.[3]
