DeAnna Bennett (born 18 November 1984) in Fremont, California,[1] is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the Strawweight division.[2] She signed with Invicta FC in June 2014.[1]

Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Bennett wrestled for American High School before graduating in 2002. She credits her "being a fat kid" for motivating her to join a kickboxing gym to stay in shape, and eventually competing in Muay Thai kickboxing.

After a short amateur MMA career in 2011, Bennett made her professional MMA debut in February 2012 for Showdown Fights. She competed for the promotion four times over the next two years, winning all of her bouts. Notably beating stand outs Sharon Jacobson, Colleen Schneider and Julianna Pena respectfully.

Invicta FC

Bennett made her Invicta FC debut on September 6, 2014, at Invicta FC 8, where she defeated Michelle Ould by TKO in the second round.[3]

In her second fight for the promotion, Bennett faced Jennifer Maia on December 5, 2014, at Invicta FC 10. She won the fight by unanimous decision.[4]

Bennett next faced Norma Rueda Center on February 27, 2015, at Invicta FC 11.[5] She again won the fight by unanimous decision.

Personal life

Bennett currently lives in Utah and shares split custody of her dog Atlas, an American Staffordshire Terrier and Cane Corso mix.

It is quite well noted that her soul mate is Mexican food, though she would never turn down a Costco platter of cocktail shrimp or pile of bacon.

Bennett is an avid baker and is known to make a pie or two, but she never eats it herself.

She also works at Vivint Home Security as a Smart Home Pro in the Channel Partner Department of the Inside Sales Department at the corporate headquarters in Provo, UT.
