David Zed

David Kirk Traylor, best known as David Zed and Mr. Zed, is an American mime, actor and singer, mainly active in Italy.

Career

Born in Indianapolis, Traylor found success from the late 1970s performing "Zed", a human-robot, that he mimed shuffling feet, moving rhythmically forearms, mechanically rotating the head.[1] In 1980 he took part as singer at the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "R.O.B.O.T.", which became his major hit as singer.[2] In mid-90's he was the author and host of the television-show Mr. Zed Show, which was broadcast by several TV-stations across Europe.[3] He also starred in a number of films and television series.
