Daniel S. Peña Sr. (born August 10, 1945), also known as Dan Pena, is an American businessman and high-performance business coach, born in Jacksonville, Florida. Today, he resides at Guthrie Castle in Scotland.[1] Peña is prominent for his seven-day Castle Seminar on Quantum Leap Advantage (QLA) Methodology and claims to have a net worth of $50 billion.[2] He is the author of book, Your First Hundred Million Biography

Biography

After service in the US Army in which he left as an officer in 1969,[3] he received a BS degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 1971.

Upon leaving college, he worked in real estate, and then joined Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis and subsequently Bear Stearns. After that, he was President and CEO of Kennedy Industries Inc. and then Chairman of JPK Industries, Inc.

In 1982, he founded Great Western Resources Inc. (GWRI) with $820,[4] a Houston-based natural resource company. When he left the company in 1992, the company had a public market capitalization of over £300 million British pounds/ $450 million.[5] Peña owned around 10 percent shares of GWRI when he left in 1992 and subsequently had 4.5% in 1994. He was ousted by the company's board of directors, which he later sued and won $3.3 million in actual damages for refusing to pay his employment contract.[6]

In 2003, after nearly twenty years of work, Peña made Guthrie Castle available for public bookings.[7] The grounds also contain a golf course which Peña wanted to be very difficult to play.[8]

Peña is founder and Chairman of The Guthrie Group,[9] an investment consortium, incorporated on the Channel Islands in 2002 and named after Guthrie Castle in Scotland.

Peña also has business interests in the Philippines, where he is Founder and Chairman of iZone Technologies.[10]

In 2009, Peña was one of three people accused of having swindled millions of rupees by credit card theft from illegal proxy porn websites in India.[11] The police later dropped the charges against Peña and an associate, for lack of evidence.[12]

In 2016, Peña publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president.[13]

Media

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Al Martinez featured Peña in a 1983 Pulitzer prize series on Mexican American Millionaires in Southern California in the Los Angeles Times [18]

In said article, Al Martinez describes Peña as "already a wealthy oil broker" with over $50 million revenues in just one year, attempting to buy his own oil refinery. [19]

He has also been written about in Investor's Business Daily,[20] Financial Times,[21] The Sunday Telegraph,[22] The National Law Journal,[23] Houston Chronicle,[24] Houston Business Journal, Texas Lawyer,[25] Success Now Magazine,[26] and Hispanic Business Magazine.[27]

He has been a featured guest on multiple podcast such as London Real TV, Bulletproof and Nextshark and continues to do guest shows. In April 2014, he was a featured guest on London Real TV.[28] In May 2015, he was featured in an article by INC wherein he gives important insights for success.[29] In May 2016, he was a featured guest by the Oxford Entrepreneurs which was held at Oxford University.[30]

Peña also has his own series of podcasts, "The Quantum Leap Advantage" which feature his QLA Seminars and other free content. He has also launched "Reflections & Confessions of the 50 billion dollar man", "Ask the 50 billion dollar man" and "Dan responds to bullshit". His podcasts can be found in both Podbean[31] and on iTunes.[32] He has also launched his own radio show entitled : "Live, Uncut, Raw, Unfiltered Ask the 50 billion dollar man"[33]

On September 11, 2016, the Sunday Business Post published an article entitled: "Coughlan joins Trump backer Pena's nursing home group" wherein it highlighted a video recorded by London Real Academy in March 2016. The video, in which Peña advises viewers about success habits, also highlighted his support and backing for Donald Trump, and predicted that if Donald Trump is elected president - he is going to "rock the planet." [34]

Works

In 1997, he self-published the autobiographical book Build Your Own Guthrie through his company Great Wisdom Publishing, a former subsidiary of International Media Holdings, Inc. (IMH, formerly Success Development International, SDI), where he was a majority shareholder.[35]

In 1999, the British mail-order entrepreneur Stuart Goldsmith, through his company Medina Ltd, published a revised edition of that book under the title Your First 100 Million, which they offered for £277.[36] The Second Edition of Your First Hundred Million has been released in July 2009 selling at $197.00 USD.[37]

In April 2014, Peña published Dan Pena’s $50 Billion QLA eBook,[38] a free eBook, wherein he shows how he through his mentees and devotees created $50 Billion in equity and value, since 1993.

He also published a special free edition of his book Your First Hundred Million in the Romanian language on his website.[39] In November 2016, Peña also released a free Russian version of the book.[40]

Controversy

On May 2, 2016, the Opportunity Charter School in Harlem, New York rescinded an offer for Peña to speak in the school due to his endorsement of Donald Trump. Pena later said that he had spoken at Oxford University after the incident with no issues.[41] He has been interviewed in the Scott Adams Radio Show about this matter [42]

On a 2016 Larry Elders[43] and Dennis Prager [44] nationally syndicated radio show, an anonymous caller voiced his displeasure about the Opportunity Charter School, on both programs. Elder attributed the incident to political correctness, which he described as "outrageous".
