Dacre Montgomery (born 22 November 1994) is an Australian actor. He has been cast to play Jason the Red Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot.[1]

Career

Montgomery's career started in the Short Film Bertrand the Terrible as Fred, in 2010. In 2011, he was in a TV Pilot called Family Tree. In May 2015, Montgomery appeared in the music video for "Old Souls" by Perth deathcore band Make Them Suffer. [2] In October 2015, it was announced that Montgomery had been cast in the new Power Rangers feature film reboot, as Jason, the Red Ranger, the leader of the Power Rangers. The film is set to be released in 2017.[3] He will also star in the sequel to the Australian comedy A Few Best Men, titled A Few Less Men, as Mike.[4]

In 2016, Montgomery joined the cast of the Netflix supernatural science fiction series Stranger Things.[5]

Personal life

Perth[6]-born and raised, Montgomery has been performing on stage and screen since he was nine. His Canadian mother and New Zealand father met in Perth when they both worked in the screen industry.[7]
